Legacy
The Growing Hearts and Minds project is in it’s final stages. It’s been a wonderful year full of such exciting activities and events, with artwork and performances by amazing people from the local community who have inspired us all.
To mark the end of the project we wanted to create a legacy for community to have access to. To show the success of the project and to thank all the participants for their enthusiasm and creativity we have compiled a special book with snippets of what has happened since 16th July until now.
The limited edition book contains a specially recorded CD featuring lots of songs by the participants in the music sessions, there are lots of lovely photos taken by the walkers, artists and workshop participants, mainly reflecting on the seasons and how we delivered and exciting programme of activities throughout the year.
A great part of the book is that it has some brilliant quotes by people involved in the project – there are some really helpful hints and tips for people to consider how they engage with the natural environment and the arts, how we can use them to help ourselves feel happy and more involved with our community.

So tonight, Tuesday 20th December 2011, we are having a small gathering at The Observatory to mark this special occasion. It will be a short event for local people to come along and have a hot drink, listen to some of the music from the project and share stories and laughter – people will be able to take a special legacy book home to keep and read at their leisure.
We hope that people will enjoy the chance to chat and share the fun and experiences they have had during this lovely project, that has made Northwood such a special place for us to work in during 2010 – 2011.
Over the next few days we aim to geo-tag lots and lots of photographs from the walks and attribute them to Northwood Park – a place that seems invisible on a map but is very big in our hearts. We want the world to notice Northwood for being a an inspiring place, with creative people would want to make the world a brighter place.
