SPRING

We had a beautiful evening on Friday 15th April in Northwood Park and Northwood Parish Hall.

SPRING was fun a full house with people coming to see what Growing Hearts and Minds is all about, volunteers, performers and family and friends who were keen to see what their loved ones had created. People enjoyed a variety of things on the night, hopefully with a bit of something for everyone. Lanterns parading through the park to the  sounds of a small processional band, a magically decorated hall which perfectly set the scene for the evenings indoor festivities, scrummy homemade food (Spring vegetable soup, yummy bread, plum and rhubarb pudding with cream), a three-part story of  The White Bear told through shadow play and music from budding musicians and songwriters, plus the Great Seed Giveaway.

- People were given seeds to take home and grow. In the hope that they will produce some veg that we can then conjur up into a community meal for our Harvest event in the Autumn. If you would like to help grown some veg for the event please get in touch and get involved.

If you are not sure what to do with your seeds check out the GROW page.

Generally they need 4 things :

  1. sunshine,
  2. somewhere warm to sit,
  3. water  - keep the soil damp ( not soggy),
  4. TLC ( tender loving care)
  5. * optional ingredient … you could try singing to them every morning !Well, some people say it works and who are we to doubt them – if it makes you or the plants happy give it a go!
